Did you know that one in eight women face Breast Cancer in their lifetime? And it’s not just women! Men can get breast cancers too, though it’s much rarer. Take a moment and really think about that. Someone you know, maybe even someone close to you, could be affected. To especially address this critical issue, we decided to make it one of our major projects. The Pink Pledge, a breast cancer awareness project held annually throughout the month of October. This project is initiated to highlight Breast Cancer and raise awareness among everyone. Throughout the month, we shared eye-catching posters and informative content among club members and on social media platforms, covering topics such as the definition of breast cancer, its symptoms, do’s and don’ts, and separating myths and facts which people get mostly confused with, and more importantly, highlighting that it can affect men too. The aim was simply to educate, engage, and also, make awareness a part of an everyday conversation, both online and offline. The project not only helped to enlighten the members who were less aware of the topic but also fostered a sense of empathy, a strength of teamwork, and a deep commitment toward the welfare of the community. It created opportunities for members to strengthen their bonds with one another while caring for the community. The main highlight of the project was the memorable group photo in pink at the end of the meeting which was more of an everlasting symbol of the members’ collective wholehearted devotion to supporting people and the nation, now and always.
