Some skills change everything, and speaking with confidence is one of them. That is exactly why the Rotaract Club of Kandy teamed up with the Interact Club of Badi-Ud-Din Mahmud Girls’ College to bring to life on 13 October 2025. The idea was simple. Many students have great thoughts but freeze when it is time to speak. The workshop was led by Mr. Yoosuf Zuhry, who brought real world experience and broke public speaking down into practical steps that actually feel doable. From voice control and confidence to connecting with an audience, the focus stayed on skills participants could use the very next day, at a school event, a club meeting, or even a competition. A Q&A segment kept the energy going and gave participants space to ask the questions everyone secretly has. With 55 Interactors and 6 Rotaractors in attendance, the room was full of attention, laughter, and those small brave moments where someone realizes they can actually do this. The project was chaired by Rtr. H. A. Dulan Madushanka Herath, supported by Rtr. Jameema Raffaideen, Rtr. Thilini Subasinghe, and Rtr. Iyne Fazil. A big thank you goes to our sponsor, the Rotary Club of Kandy, for supporting this initiative. The best part is that The Podium was not just a one-day event. It started a culture of practice, where more students feel ready to compere, present, lead, and speak up.
