LEAD 4.0 is the 4th edition of the residential leadership development program organised by the Rotaract Club of Kandy, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kandy and a few regional Interact Clubs. Held at the NICD Polgolla, this two-day outbound training initiative serves as a high-impact incubator for youth leadership, vocational skill-building, and personality development within the Kandy region. Project Statistics & Reach Participation:60+ Interactors completed the 2-day residential program. Network Scope: Representation from all 21 Interact Clubs within the Kandy Rotary family. Demographics: A diverse mix of Interactors (ages 14-18), Rotaractors, and Rotary mentors. Faculty: Featured 5 distinguished resource persons providing specialised training in diverse leadership disciplines. The project’s central objective was to to Create Multi-Disciplinary Leadership Competence To provide 60+ youth delegates with a comprehensive toolkit involving practical strategy, emotional intelligence, and conscious leadership, moving beyond theoretical knowledge. To Cultivate Holistic Personal Development To integrate physical discipline and body conditioning into traditional leadership training, ensuring participants develop the physical presence, agility, and mental-body synchronisation required for confident public leadership. To Strengthen the Kandy Rotary Family Ecosystem To serve as a centralised platform for mentorship and collaboration by unifying students from all 21 Interact Clubs in the region. To Enhance Emotional and Social Intelligence To equip young leaders with the psychological tools to manage internal stress, practice empathy in team environments, and lead with compassion. To Promote Self-Reliance and the “Intrapreneurial” Mindset To inspire participants to become architects of their own success by breaking down internal barriers and developing the discipline.To Build Resilience Through Immersion To utilise a residential, outbound format (including team-building and bonfire sessions) to pull participants out of their comfort zones, building grit, adaptability, and lifelong networking bonds.
