Meri Kahani is an international storytelling initiative conducted in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of KIMS (District 3170). The project serves as a global platform for Rotaractors to share the “human side” of service, the personal experiences, cultural heritage, and transformative moments that define their journey within the movement.By using native languages and digital storytelling, the project aims to bridge geographical borders through shared values and emotional connection. The Kandy Chapter: Project Christmas Gift Box. As our contribution to this global narrative, the Rotaract Club of Kandy featured a moving account of Project Christmas Gift Box, presented by Rtr. The story highlights our club’s efforts to bring festive cheer to underprivileged communities within the Kandy region. More than just a distribution drive, the narrative focuses on: The Spirit of Giving: The behind-the-scenes effort of members coming together to curate personalized gift boxes. The project’s central objective was to promote International Fellowship: Strengthening the bond between District 3220 (Sri Lanka & Maldives) and District 3170 (India) through collaborative content. Cultural Exchange: Encouraging members to express their service journey in their authentic voice and language. Inspiration through Media: Utilising high-quality video content to showcase the tangible impact of the Community Service Avenue. Successfully launched a high-quality video feature on social media, garnering immediate engagement (likes, shares, and comments) from members in both RID 3220 and RID 3170. By featuring Project Christmas Gift Box, the Rotaract Club of Kandy’s local community service efforts were showcased to an international audience, elevating the club’s public image. Highlighting the work of Rtr. Salma Sheriff provided internal motivation and recognized the creative talent within our own club.
