The Polio Proof Project was a high-visibility advocacy initiative organized by the Rotaract Club of Kandy in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kandy. Held on October 28, 2025, at the Kandy Lake Round near Kandy Joy Boat Services, the project served as a local contribution to Rotary International’s global “End Polio Now” campaign. The project utilized a creative “fingerprint canvas” where participants contributed red and yellow fingerprints to symbolize their commitment to a polio-free world. To further boost visibility, participants and members wore red, the signature colour of the campaign, to demonstrate unity and support. The project successfully engaged over 300+ individuals, including a diverse mix of both local residents and foreign tourists. By choosing a high-traffic location like the Kandy Lake Round, the initiative effectively spread awareness about the necessity of maintaining a polio-free world through creative public participation. The project showcased the partnership between the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Kandy in pursuing international service goals.
