When was the last time you felt the pure, unadulterated excitement of a surprise? In a world that often demands we be the providers, the planners, and the problem-solvers, there is a rare magic in simply being a recipient, not just of a gift, but of someone else’s thoughtful consideration. On the 28th of December 2025, as the year wound to a close, the members of the Rotaract Club of Kandy gathered to celebrate this very magic. The setting was as picturesque as the sentiment. From 9:00 AM onwards, the Mahaweli View Bungalow opened its doors to our members. Nestled against a backdrop of scenic tranquility, the venue provided the perfect sanctuary for us to step away from our roles and into a circle of friendship. While our motto, “Service Above Self,” guides our hands throughout the year, Project Secret Santa was designed to warm our hearts. It was a reminder that while we serve as a collective, we are valued as individuals. As we exchanged gifts, we also exchanged gratitude. We acknowledged that behind every successful project is a teammate who deserves to be seen, known, and celebrated. As the morning transitioned into afternoon, we left the bungalow with more than just trinkets or souvenirs. We left with a renewed sense of belonging.
